The Little Blue Montessori School is a year-round school community that serves families with children aged 18 months to 6 years of age year-round.

In lieu of closing for 2.5 months in the summer, we take two week breaks roughly every season, as is typical of year-round schools. Our breaks mainly align with the traditional school year calendar (one week at Thanksgiving, two weeks in the winter, federal holidays, etc.), other than spring break when we take two weeks, two conference days and two staff professional development days.

We close two weeks in the summer, instead of closing for 2.5 months, and one week in August to prepare for the upcoming school year. We recognize the scheduling and financial difficulty that can come from these breaks; however, they are necessary to prevent teacher and student burn out. LBMS has helped with this by partnering with EPSA (https://epsportsacademy.com) and we are working towards offering a variety of camps during these breaks.

Toddler Community (Easton Park & Manchaca)

Our Toddler Community offers care for children who are aged 18 mos. to 3 years of age and who are confident walkers by their start date. Toilet learning is a part of this program and will not be a requirement prior to enrollment. This community will be led by a full-time Lead Guide and full-time Assistant Guide and is hosted between the hours of 8:30 am and 12:00 pm.  Children older than 20 months should join the waitlist for our Primary Community

• 8:30 am - 12 pm - 18 months to  3 years old

Primary Community  (Easton Park & Manchaca)

Our Primary Community consists of children aged 3 to 6 years of age and who are independently toileting by their start date (this includes dressing/undressing)

• Half Day - ages 3 - 4.5 years - 8:30 am - 12 pm
• This half day program is for children who are 3 - 4.5 years old and does not include lunch.

• Full Day - ages 4.5 - 6 years - 8:30 am - 3 pm
• The full day program is for children who are no longer in need of an afternoon nap and are invited to stay a full day. The full day invitations are at the discretion of the Lead Guide in partnership with each child’s family and in accordance with his/her needs.

After Care Options (Easton Park only)

After Care is offered for both Toddler and Primary students

• 12 pm to 3 pm
• 12 pm to 5:30 pm
• 3 pm to 5:30 pm

* Toddlers and Half Day Primary children will be invited to nap according to their needs during this time.

** This will be a time of outdoor play, open-ended play with toys, arts and crafts, and songs and music enjoyment.  An afternoon snack will be offered.

Drop-in After Care Options (Easton Park only)

We offer families Drop-in After Care options for children who need extended care and is available for both Toddler and Primary students

• 12 pm to 3 pm
• 12 pm to 5:30 pm
• 3 pm to 5:30 pm

* We ask that parents try and give us 24 hours notice  for Drop-in After Care
